errant artSpace is a full time venue for working artists, located a 5 minute drive from downtown Victoria. Member artists work out of seven individual private work spaces in a context of revolving intermittent weekend exhibitions. Exhibitions include works from member artists as well as works from artists located around Vancouver Island and Vancouver. We have significant newly renovated space to exhibit contemporary art work including sculpture, painting, mixed media, drawing, installation and printmaking.
We have over 12 years of experience setting up and managing art space where members can feel safe and supported in a highly creative, mature environment. Artists applying for exhibitions are guaranteed a respectful, professional appraisal of their work and curatorial guidance to set up their individual or group show. Responsibility for the hanging, sitting, as well as removal and cleanup of shows remains with the showing artist(s). Please be aware that all outside artist's will be required to pay a showing fee for any exhibitions. Please contact the management for information on acceptable hanging practices and cleanup and remediation procedures.
The focus of the managers of errant artSpace, Richard Pawley and Susan McArthur, is to provide independent working space for local artists at a reasonable cost. We are financially self reliant from income from artist work spaces and exhibitions. We do not receive government or other funding. All exhibition sales go to the exhibiting artist.
